WHAT IS NOSE AESTHETICS, RHINOPLASTY?

Rhinoplasty is achieving an aesthetic appearance by reshaping the bone and cartilage structures of the nose. It is one of the most common aesthetic operations performed in the world. In today's world that facial appearance is important at all ages, a beautiful nose becomes indispensable for a beautiful face appearance. A nose that is not in harmony with the facial structure may cause psychological problems leading to a decrease in self-confidence. In nose aesthetics (Rhinoplasty)operations, it is aimed to eliminate the functional problems of the nose by correcting the aesthetic appearance. Difficulty breathing through the nose can turn into a problem that seriously affects the quality of life of the person in the later stages. During the rhinoplasty operation, septum (middle part of the nose) curvatures that cause breathing difficulties and excess mucosa-bone formations called concha are removed. At the same time, the strictures that obstruct the air flow in the nose are eliminated, and the cartilage angles are arranged to provide the best air flow.

TO WHOM CAN IT BE PEFORMED?

-Those who are uncomfortable with the aesthetic appearance of the nose
-Those suffering from breathing problems
- People who do not have a serious health problem that may prevent surgery are candidates for rhinoplasty operation.

Rhinoplasty is an operation performed under general anesthesia. It can be done with open or closed method. The difference between the open method and the closed method is that an incision of less than 0.5 cm is made on the skin below the nose. There remains almost no scar on the incision site around the second month after the operation. It is best to decide together with your physician which technique is more suitable for you. Duration of the operation may vary between 2 and 4 hours depending on the procedures to be performed.

AFTER SURGERY

Postoperative hospital stay is usually 1 or 2 days, depending on the operations performed.
